Soil Excavation, Backfilling and Soil Restoration   Location: Linden, New Jersey         Value: $ 100,000.00     Panther was contracted to perform contaminated soil excavation, decommissioning of an SVE system, monitoring well closures, backfilling and site restoration services in Linden, NJ. Panther established site control, heavy equipment unloading and material storage areas and routes of entry and exit to the site. Panther monitored the work area daily with a dust meter and summarized the calibration, actual readings, soil source location and depths and time of readings on a daily report. Panther also completed some limited fence removal and established a decontamination area. The first action completed was the abandonment of one (1) monitoring well and 12 SVE wells. The wells were grouted in place, manholes were removed and disposal papers were filled out for the NJDEP. Panther excavated a VOC and two PCB contaminated soil areas and segregated for disposal purposes. The excavated materials were loaded directly onto trucks. Panther provided and installed certified clean fill for areas of excavation. Panther restored the area bringing backfill to 6” of final excavation followed by topsoil and seed in the lawn area. Panther also reinstalled the existing plants, approximately 160 SF of 4” concrete sidewalk and approximately 40 linear feet of concrete curbing. 6000 SF of asphalt paving in the rear excavation locations was also restored to the gradient to provide proper drainage.
