Panther provided turnkey decontamination and decommissioning services under an extremely tight project schedule for the decommissioning of various toxic compressed gases and hazardous contaminated processing equipment with a Class 100 clean room at a semiconductor facility in Warren, New Jersey. The services included the purging of saline, arsine gas, chloroform, carbon tetra fluoride and sulfur hexafluoride process lines, the cleaning and removal of various solvent lines, and the decommissioning of various support systems. Panther packaged, analyzed, labeled and disposed of all materials resulting from the cleanup action. The operations were completed in Level B personal protection within the clean room while business was continued in adjacent office areas under stringent and continuous monitoring. Prior to beginning activities, the entire two floors 10,000 sf area were isolated and placed under negative vacuum to prevent vapor from impacting surrounding workers. During the course of the work, our group in conjunction with the owner's engineering firm and owner carefully monitored and managed all operations to minimize the potential of emissions, the segregation of waste and optimum methods to expedite the removal action. Panther minimized the hazardous waste materials through cleaning, sizing and sampling of the waste resulting in savings of over $40,000.
