Location: Central New Jersey
Value: $ 250,000.00
As one of five contractors selected by a confidential utility client for their MGP Remedial Services Program, Panther was awarded a project to provide test pitting and soil and drum removal services during separate mobilizations to a former MGP site in Central NJ in 2003 and 2004. After mobilizing to the site for the test pitting work, Panther dug 13 separate test pits around the facility over a three-week period. The pits varied in length between 15 and 900 feet, were approximately 13 feet in depth, and the width of a single backhoe bucket. Contaminated soils were placed in roll-offs for waste characterization and disposal. Clean soils were returned to the test pits and compacted upon approval by the client’s representative. During the second mobilization, Panther removed approximately 1,000 tons of contaminated soil as well as two-dozen partially buried steel drums. Erosion control measures were installed as well as full decontamination pads with sumps for rinseate collection. Certified clean fills were used for backfill, and the site was restored with topsoil, trees were planted and the site was seeded.
