Panther performed remediation services at a former electrical manufacturing facility with organic and inorganic contaminated soils and groundwater. The AOCs on this project were impacted with PCBs, Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons and metals at concentrations above the NJDEP Residential Direct Contact Cleanup Criteria. During site mobilization and preparation, Panther installed aggregate access roads throughout the site, a truck decontamination pad, soil erosion & sediment control measures and approximately 2,400 LF of temporary chain link fence. Approximately two (2) acres of trees & vegetation were removed, chipped and shipped offsite for recycling. Panther removed & demolished approximately 350 tons of concrete building footings, excavated and shipped offsite 1,100 SY of asphalt debris, 1,120 tons of non-contaminated concrete and dismantled & demolished a waste water treatment building with process equipment. Approximately 41,000 tons of hazardous and non-hazardous contaminated soil was excavated and shipped offsite for disposal. Panther utilized trench boxes for deep excavations adjacent to an active sanitary sewer line and building foundations. Panther installed 400 LF of new 6 steel fire line, a new fire hydrant, 200 LF of new RCP storm drain and 180 LF of new PVC sanitary sewer line. Upon the completion of all soil removal activities and the receipt of clean post-excavation sample results, the excavations were backfilled with clean, imported fill material followed by 4 of topsoil and hydroseeding. 260 LF of permanent chain link fence was installed along with 2,000 SY of new asphalt paving. All excavation and backfill activities were controlled by pre-construction and post-construction final elevation surveys.
