Environmental Business Journal’s “Business Achievement Awards”

2005 - Technology Merit Award

The Technology Merit Award for 2005 was awarded to Panther for their dedication to using innovative technologies for treatment of contaminated soils and groundwater in a compressed timeframe, as well as on-site re-use of remediated soils. Application of these technologies has provided Panther’s clients with significant cost savings, and more importantly, rapid site cleanups; this clears the way for real-estate transactions and rapid redevelopment of Brownfield sites.

The technology is based on chemical oxidation, using a variety of specialized, site-specific chemical oxidants and activators. Panther’s growth in the market is based on their skill at evaluating complex sites and designing full-scale application methods using specialized mixing equipment. Soil remediation is completed either in-situ or ex-situ using specialized mixing and injection equipment unique to Panther’s operations. Groundwater treatment can include a variety of delivery mechanisms, including hydraulically controlled applications. This area of Panther’s business has seen significant growth in the past three years, over 100% in this sector alone. The processes have drawn attention to Panther internationally as well; several opportunities are currently being evaluated in Japan and the United Kingdom.

2004 - Silver Medal

The Silver Medal was awarded to Panther for continued growth while expanding its technology development programs. During 2004, the company invested more than $1 million in new field mixing equipment to support the use of its innovative chemical oxidation technology. Over the previous 12 months, the company used over one million pounds of chemical oxidants to remediate tens of thousands of pounds of contaminants on site, ranging from chlorinated organics to semi-volatile organics. Revenues marked a 160% increase over 2003 earning the firm rankings on the 2004 Inc. 500 list, and for the fourth consecutive year on Entrepreneur magazine's list of the Top 100 fastest-growing companies in the United States.

2003 - Gold Medal

Panther was awarded the Gold Medal in 2003 for revenue growth of 185% to $9.7 million, accompanied by 250% growth in net profitability. The company’s success in 2003 continues a pattern of growth in revenue and profitability since it was formed in 2000, culminating this year in the firm’s third consecutive appearance on Entrepreneur’s list of Top 100 fastest growing companies in the United States. Backlog for 2004 already includes over $10 million in field services for Fortune 500-size companies, in addition to over $1.5 million in projected product sales of PermeOx® Plus, which is a calcium peroxide-based, slow-oxygen-release product for in-situ treatment of dissolved phase hydrocarbon contamination in groundwater.

2002 - Bronze Medal

A 2001 EBJ gold medalist, Panther was pleased to announce being awarded the 2002 Bronze Medal for growth to $5.3 million in revenue in 2002, and a net profits increase of 400%. Started in 2000, Panther’s contract work included decontamination, demolition, landfill capping and site remediation in the Northeast for pharmaceutical, chemical, waste and transportation companies. In 2002, Panther introduced a product line with PermeOx® Plus, an oxygen release compound for in-situ treatment of hydrocarbons in groundwater.

2001 - Gold Medal

Panther was awarded EBJ's Gold Medal in the small firm’s category for our rapid growth from our startup in February 2000, to $3.7 million in revenue and 28 employees by the end of 2001.  Panther provides services from decontamination/demolition to innovative site remediation, primarily along the East Coast, to clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical, waste and transportation industries.
